Creating an Experience for a Student

Step 1: Access Manage Experiences

  1. Log in to your Pathful account

  2. From your Dashboard, select the Manage Experiences tab

  3. This is your command center for overseeing all learner experience tracking

Step 2: Create a New Experience

  1. Locate the option to create a new experience for a student

  2. Select the student for whom you want to create the experience

  3. Choose the experience category:

    • Work-based learning (internships, job shadows, workplace tours, etc.)

    • Community service

    • Extracurricular activities

    • Other career readiness activities

Step 3: Document Experience Details

Complete the following information about the experience:

  • Experience Title: Give the experience a clear, descriptive name

  • Organization/Company: Where the experience took place

  • Supervisor/Contact Information: If applicable

  • Files: Upload any relevant documentation

Select โ€œ+Add a New Instanceโ€ to add the following information:

  • Start and End Dates: When the experience occurred

  • Hours: Total hours completed (or hours for this instance)

  • Description: Details about what the student did

  • Skills Developed: Key competencies gained

Step 4: Save the Experience

  1. Review all entered information for accuracy

  2. Choose one of the following options:

    • Add and Approve: Creates the experience and approves it immediately. The experience will be marked as approved and count toward the student's hours.

    • Add as Draft: Creates the experience and adds it to the student's drafts. The student will need to log in and edit/add to the experience before submitting for approval.

  3. The experience will now appear in the student's Experience Tracker

Important Notes:

Once you create an experience on behalf of a student:

  • If the experience is saved as a draft you cannot edit the experience after initial creation

  • The student must log in to:

    • Review and edit the experience details

    • Add reflection responses

    • Submit the experience for approval
